A new survey indicates that feelings about personal finances are now governed by political party affiliation. Experian found overall that 51 percent of respondents think their own personal finances will get better through the end of President Donald Trump’s term, while a little more than a third think everyone’s general financial status will get better.

Here’s where the disconnect begins: Among Republicans, 70 percent think their personal finances will get better over the four-year term. Among Democrats, only 36 percent feel optimistic.
