Fidelity aims to improve financial literacy

Fidelity Investments is working to improve student financial literacy by increasing teacher knowledge.

On Aug. 1, about 30 elementary school teachers from the Northern Kentucky region attended a Financial Literacy Teacher Training hosted on Fidelity’s Covington campus. The training was held in partnership with the University of Cincinnati Economics Center. Fidelity volunteers presented Jump$tart Teacher Training Alliance curriculum focusing on saving, investing and planning.

The training was designed to help teachers with the basics of financial literacy. The training goes beyond simply how to teach the subject, designed to focus on the financial concepts themselves to improve the teachers’ own understanding as adult learners and to use in and out of the classroom.
